Course introduction

Constitutional Facial Acupuncture

with Mary Elizabeth Wakefield & MichelAngelo

There is a growing demand for an organic, natural process of aging that involves not only the treatment of the body, but also the recognition of the mind/spirit connection in the healing process. Constitutional Facial Acupuncture, both an ancient and a revolutionary system, fills this demand, because it links inner beauty and radiance with outer physical balance. This unique modality empowers and encourages people to reassess how they think about beauty and aging. It also offers a preventative alternative to cosmetic surgery and other invasive procedures, takes an integrative approach to health, and addresses the totality of the individual patient to enhance both beauty and longevity, while simultaneously promoting quality of life and youthful vigor. Constitutional Facial Acupuncture™ recognizes the face as the most emotive part of the body. It uses gentle origin/insertion techniques to address facial muscle imbalances relating to emotional expression, as well as lines, wrinkles and sagging tendencies. Three constitutional treatment levels – Jing, Ying and Wei – support the facial protocols. Also included are psychospiritual and Shen scalp treatments, as well as a complete topical Chinese herbal protocol with soothing botanicals, jade rollers and gem discs. The video presentation will include filmed demonstration treatments.

Goals and objectives:
• Learn facial protocols based upon origin and insertion muscle techniques
• Apply 3 types of constitutional treatments, based upon the Jing, Yin and Wei levels
• Integrate psychospiritual points into the protocols
• Use topical Chinese herbs to enhance the effects of the facial acupuncture treatments
