Baduanjin Qi Gong

Baduanjin is commonly translated as the ‘eight brocades’ or ‘eight silken movements’, and according to legend dates back nearly a thousdand years. It is a powerful form that develops physical strength, balance and rootedness, integrated body movement and mental and emotional stabilutyn and resilience. This course consists of eight principal lessons that cover each move in detail, accompanied by over twenty additional videos that explain some of the finer points of practice as well as the theory and history of qigong.

About the lecturer

Peter Deadman

Peter Deadman has worked in the field of health promotion for over fifty years. After founding a natural foods business and a health promotion charity, he moved into Chinese medicine, studying and practising first acupuncture then herbal medicine. He founded The Journal of Chinese Medicine, is co-author of A Manual of Acupuncture and author of Live Well Live Long: Teachings from the Chinese Nourishment of Life Tradition and has taught Chinese medicine, yangsheng (nourishment of life) and qigong all over the world.
